WANA (Nov 17) – For the first time, Iran will set up a pavilion at the largest international defense exhibition in Pakistan, aimed at showcasing the country’s military advancements, including indigenous defense, aerospace, and electronic warfare industries.

The 12th edition of the Pakistan International Defense Exhibition (IDEAS 2024) will take place from November 19 in Karachi, Sindh province, for four days. Iran’s pavilion will be a prominent event feature, offering a dedicated and expansive space to display its cutting-edge military technologies.

The exhibition’s opening ceremony, scheduled for Tuesday, will be attended by Pakistan’s Prime Minister, Shehbaz Sharif. A delegation representing Iran’s General Staff of the Armed Forces and the Ministry of Defense and Armed Forces Logistics will also be present at the Iranian booth.

The theme of this year’s IDEAS exhibition is “Weapons for Peace,” organized by Pakistan’s Defense Export Promotion Organization (DEPO). More than 300 exhibitors from 55 countries will participate, representing leading defense and military equipment producers.

As part of its deterrence strategy, Iran will present a range of its defense capabilities, including products from the Ministry of Defense and Iranian knowledge-based companies.

Brigadier General Ali Adel, the director of DEPO, confirmed in a press conference that over 300 foreign exhibitors from 55 countries are expected to attend.

This biennial event, which was postponed in 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic, first launched in 2000. The last edition, held in November 2022, saw the participation of delegations from 64 countries, including a representative team from Iran’s Armed Forces.
